The verdict is still out on whether or not Rick Santorum could be a sustainable candidate for the Republican nomination. If all goes well for Santorum, today's Michigan primary will reveal a blighted Romney and increasing legitimacy for his campaign. But, Rick Santorum still makes me chuckle... his off-the-cuff comments regarding JFK's speech on the separation of church and state, as well as his disdain for even the most mildy progressive ideas. His visceral reaction to issues like gay rights, DADT, women in the military, the traditional role of women, and contraception, among others, gives serious reason for pause. Put frankly, Rick Santorum's campaign scares me. Here is an article about his top seven culture war moments. Definitely worth a read.

It looks like he's pulling out all the stops for the primaries (at least Michigan) today, and apparently so are some Democrat groups, trying to bust up Romney's claim to the candidacy. After a serious cash injection over the past couple weeks, Romney gained a slight edge but it's neck and neck for now. Time to put on the lucky sweatervest...
