This piece is about how Americans resonate with the original trilogy more because it creates a clearer moral compass that we can identify with(A ragtag group of rebels fighting the evil empire... sound familiar?). The Prequel series presents a crumbling of Democracy through lies and misinformation, where citizens of democracy are willing to sacrifice individual rights for greater perceived safety. This second scenario may hit a little too close to home for Americans, who have suffered the past 3 presidential terms(current one included) with Leadership that continually increases in power, and oversteps boundaries for the "greater good."
