There does seem to be something about Sarah Palin that drives the left to distraction.

i like that he calls her "disturbed"...that's just awesome. If she became president I wonder how many would flee the country?

Andrew Sullivan is on "the left?"

He's conservative, in the true sense of the word.

You must mean the old Andrew, not the current Andrew.

I think the real issue is with the old conservatism versus the new conservatism.

This guy basically argues that Andrew Sullivan isn't a conservative because he doesn't agree with the theocon argument against gay marriage, that if we allow gay people to get married it's a slippery slope to Sharia.

If religion is now a component of "real" conservatism in America, I stand by what I said. Conservatism has a real problem.

Now I do think Sullivan has endorsed some positions that are fairly liberal, but the fact that he supports gay marriage isn't one of them. And if you want to look at a group that really undermined a lot of the original intent of the Constitution over the last 10 years, most of them don't have a D after their name on C-SPAN.

"A granddaddy of Washington blogging and a former editor of The New Republic, he clings unconvincingly to the "conservative" label even after his fervent endorsement of Obama. His advocacy for gay marriage rights and his tendency to view virtually everything through a "gay" prism puts him at odds with many on the right."

Emphasis mine. Apparently there's a weird fascination with portraying all gay people as liberal because they agitate for gay rights, or see things through a "'gay' prism.".

Did President Obama invite him to the wrong dinner?

Sullivan explains himself rather well:
