Taxpayers may have to cover octuplet mom's costs
Prior to reading this article, I did not know much about the mother of the octuplet's living situation. Now that I am more informed, I do not believe that it should rest on the taxpayers of California, a state ridden in debt, to be forced to help pay for the welfare of these children if they are living with this woman. It is unacceptable for a person such as her to take advantage of the state's willingness to assist in the raising of her children when she knew she could not handle the six children she already had. It would be one thing if she was not trying intentionally to have more children, but for her to go out and get embryos put into her, she understood she could not do enough to care for the well-being of these children. The state should take some action and show her that responsibility as a parent is a big priority and if you are unemployed and living off of governmental support, you should worry about the children you already have as opposed to bringing in more into your household.
