Promise of Cash Prompts Smokers to Quit

Could this be a possible solution to eliminating health concerns? Incentives to become healthier might end up costing the government less money in health care reform and enable citizens to live better lives. In this article it states that about 70% of smokers want to quit, but are unable to do so for various reasons. For these people, it may not be such a bad idea to try offering some sort of benefit for doing so.
