Obama Picks Gregg, Another Republican Bastion Crumbles

Even though it is commendable that President Obama appears willing to add opposing voices into his cabinet, I think the Republican Party should encourage Senator Gregg to reject the post as Secretary of Commerce. With New Hampshire no longer leaning Republican in its voting pattern, Senator Gregg is too secure of a Senator to let go. With the deal being put together, Gregg's former chief of staff will take over for him in the Senate with the promise that she won't run again in the next run-off election. I think the Republicans will have a very hard time winning this seat back in 2010 with Gregg no longer an option.
