So, this is a link regarding an appearance the Chairman made on Face the Nation regarding energy policy Obama has been working on, and how the President is going in the wrong direction if we are to decrease American dependence on foreign oil. Not only does he accuse the President of being responsible for high gas prices (when it's been empirically proven that energy policy and presidential action have no effect on prices at the pump), but he also says that Obama is failing when it comes to the goal of energy independence.
LOL, the funny part (besides putting the blame for high gas prices incorrectly on Obama's shoulders) is that the United States is less dependent on foreign oil now than it has been since the Clinton administration, having dropped 12% since GWB left office. For more info and context, see this article written with typical Paul Krugman class and style.

Like.
Less dependence on foreign appears to be product of recession, not policies.

Thats a good point professor.. also of course the Republicans are going to put that on Obama's shoulders, they are trying to win. If the economy goes sour we will blame him too. Is it his fault, no, but it works.. The Democrats use the same tactic as well, pegging economic problems on Republican presidents such as George H.W., etc. If John McCain was president, you would be hearing Debbie Wasserman-Shultz making the same exact accusations.. Unfortunately, its just politics and that cannot be debated.
Your right though Greg, Reince Priebus is killing it. He has significantly out-raised the evil empire (DNC) this year and brought the RNC out of serious debt problems amassed during the last administration.
