Forget the jets,


the biggest tax "loopholes" are long established provisions most of which benefit millions of the middle class. Good luck killing these sacred cows.

Doesn't this cut against your past optimistic comments regarding tax reform? And doesn't it cut against your past critiques, or at least pointed observations, that TPC's analyses of Paul Ryan's and Tim Pawlenty's drastic deficit-increasing, regressive tax cuts didn't include any base broadening assumptions? (perhaps because neither fiscal "leader" ever specified any base-broadening they would actually support. But they were very specific on those tax cuts for the rich they'd support...)

Not really. Following the Gipper, base broadening can work-- if combined with significantly lower rates.
