More than 49 million watch Obama news conference

Considering that we read about the Clinton legacy for class today, I thought it was interesting that President Clinton garnered more viewers than President Obama for his first post-inauguration news conference. I know that the figure presented does not include internet viewership, but still it shows that people are interested in what is being done to shore up the economy. President Obama is going the campaign route to increase support for his new proposal and I think it is necessary because of the decrease in public support of the stimulus package. Even though public support is not always needed to get things enacted, as we saw with President Clinton support can be helpful if it is harnessed in the right manner.
