Franken says he's 'technically' senator-elect

With only a 225 vote discrepancy as of now, Al Franken is acting as if he has already won the open Senate seat. He probably will end up winning the election after the Minnesota Supreme Court rules on the election certificate, but one of the problems with having Franken in the Senate is the possibility of him causing a ruckus with his personality and style. He was great on Saturday Night Live, but at this point he could be a huge liability to the Democratic Party if he starts to talk to the media nonstop because he inevitably will give them headlines in the way Obama feared Biden would do when he nominated him as his VP. Other than the 30% chance the stimulus won't work comment, Biden has been pretty quiet and not done much to cause trouble to the new regime. Franken, on the other hand, likes to talk about his thoughts and even saying it is correct to call him the Senate-elect at this point strikes me as a way to get his name out there, similar to what Blago has done to get his way with his upcoming criminal trial.

Al Franken (in my humble opinion) has all the political prowess needed to occupy a Senate seat in the great state of MN.

Celebrate as much as you want Al!
