The Dems who bucked Obama

As we talked about in class, I thought it was interesting that there were 11 Democrats who voted against the stimulus package. This article shows that one of the overarching reasons for this was that they represent districts that voted for McCain during the 2008 election and do not want to turn away voters at this time. So much for standing up for what you truly believe. I would commend Congressmen who voted for or against the stimulus package if it was for their policy ideals rather than how it will affect their future prospects.
