California Struggles to Close a Projected $41 Billion Deficit
Similar to what we have seen with the stimulus proposal, the number three continues to stick out. I find it quite ironic that the number of Republicans needed to pass the new budget proposal for the state of California is three, the exact number of Republicans who sided with the Democrats in the vote for the stimulus in the Senate. Will they get the three they need to put through a plan to ease some of the burden on California citizens? Might the new $8 billion rail from Nevada come in handy right now by promoting tourism? It seems pretty odd that we would spend that much on a rail system when it only takes about an hour to fly. I guess environmentalists are getting really creative at reducing our dependence on gasoline.
