I think Perry has been done for a while. Voters want a confident and knowledgeable leader. Given Perry's previous lackluster performance at the various Republican debates, I think it will be almost impossible to recover from a gaffe of this magnitude.
Yeah, I don't see how he comes back from this. It's not like this was a one-off; he's already got a reputation for being inarticulate and less-than-brilliant and this is just going to cement that. I think we've just witnessed a bona-fide campaign sinker.

ReplyDeleteGood lord, just watched it again. That is the end of his candidacy for sure. John Harwood was good to press him on that point.
