President Obama channels Harrison Ford

In his nobel speech today, the President said, "For peace is not merely the absence of visible conflict. Only a just peace based upon the inherent rights and dignity of every individual can truly be lasting. " Very similar to Harrison Ford's line in one of my favorite movies, Air Force One. "True peace is not merely the absence of conflict, it is the presence of justice." That is one of my favorite lines, and I think the Air Force One line is more succinct and powerful than President Obama's.
But I loved today's speech and found it very inspiring.

It would've been much more exciting if something like this went down.

That said, it was an incredibly good speech.

Whoa. I think this may be the first time Obama has done something and Lachlan and I are on the same page.

Bush used to go to bed listening to this one on tape.See if you can guess where its from....

"Good morning. In less than an hour, aircraft from here will join others from around the world. And you will be launching the largest aerial battle in the history of mankind. "Mankind." That word should have new meaning for all of us today. We can't be consumed by our petty differences anymore. We will be united in our common interests. Perhaps it's fate that today is the Fourth of July, and you will once again be fighting for our freedom... Not from tyranny, oppression, or persecution... but from annihilation. We are fighting for our right to live. To exist. And should we win the day, the Fourth of July will no longer be known as an American holiday, but as the day the world declared in one voice: "We will not go quietly into the night!" We will not vanish without a fight! We're going to live on! We're going to survive! Today we celebrate our Independence Day!"
