Palin's Rocky Return to Alaska
Sarah Palin's approval ratings from her home state of Alaska are dropping, but still remain high enough to where she is virtually guaranteed a win if she runs for re-election in 2010. She seems to be positioning herself for a run at the GOP nomination in 2012 or beyond with her new approach to partisan politics. By promoting social conservatist platforms on a more national basis as she is doing in Texas, she wants to gain the trust and appreciation from fellow GOP members on a more widespread scale. I think if she wants to become a higher figure in the party these are things she needs to be doing, but at the same time the GOP has to wonder whether they can actually win and succeed with her as the figure of their party.
